Today, a bit of basic research, from the local library got ABC's Josh Byrnes take on Organic and Permaculture garden he has started from scratch in Perth. Its a great start - I will be planting my kitchen garden soon, so the tips on planting close to the house, position of winter and summer sun, prevailing winds, slopes and water are part of the considerations.
Plantings will mainly be shade tolerant herbs. Heres the before so when its done I'll show you what changes there are. You can see its quite a tropical looking area, I'm leaving the palms and frangapanis as they are a nice backdrop and will plant the ground level once the spider lillies have been transplanted.
